Thanks to all who attended our most recent StartUp SF v2.1 on 6/4/09. We had well over 100 attendees who heard Seesmic’s Loic Le Meur speak about “How to Launch a Product with your Community.” We also raised about $580 for GreenPeace which is fantastic!

Loic’s presentation is available on SlideShare but you can view it below as well. (Thanks to Dennis Mojado for recording and sharing the audio.)
Also, if you want to listen to just the audio, it is broken up into 3 sections:

StartUp SF v1.2 is a wrap and another successful meetup is under our belts. For those who attended, we hope that you walked away with some new PR ideas for your war chest. For those who were unable to attend, hopefully this post will give you a bit of what you missed.

Brian Solis, of PR 2.0 and Bub.blicio.us, presentation on “Conversational PR for Start-ups” was well received by all. Much of the information that he covered is included in his eBook, “The Essential Guide to Social Media“. Further information can be found in his article titled “PR Tips for Startups – Director’s Cut“.
During the event, I tried to Twitter some quick highlights and points from his presentation which can be tracked via Twitter hashtags (#startupsf) here. (By the way, it’s HelpaReporter.com which is fantastic!)
Also on hand were several demo companies:
Mosio Project – http://www.mosioproject.com – “Mosio is a mobile question and answer community enabling you to text any question from your phone and have it answered by real people. Harnessing the power of helpful people, mobile technologies and the internet, Mosio gives users access to information anywhere.”

Nirvino – http://www.nirvino.com – “Nirvino is, simply, the easiest way to find great wine. Our innovative technology combines wine reviews and ratings from print, online, and broadcast wine critics into one score. Get all of the information you need to make an informed purchasing decision with just one click. If the Nirvino Rating says a wine is great, look no further!”

Inveneo – http://www.inveneo.org – “Inveneo is a non-profit social enterprise whose mission is to get the tools of ICT into the hands of organizations and people who need them most: those in remote and rural communities in the developing world.”

Over $500 was raised from the sale of tickets to StartUp SF for Inveneo. Each StartUp SF event donates all proceeds to charity.
Bub.blicio.us not only photographed and covered the event, they taped an interview with iJustine as well.

The ServePath Flickr photostream has a few more photos as well. Be sure to also join the StartUp SF Facebook Group.
Attendees also received:
- $100 GoGrid service credit which enables you to deploy, scale and load balance server networks instantaneously – More info about GoGrid
- Orrick’s Startup Kit CD which includes legal documents critical to every startup Venture – More info about Orrick
The next StartUp SF is planned for early September 2008. We hope we will see more of you there then!
